First aid basics

The basic first aider is suitable to work independently at events and festivals with a low estimated risk. A first aider with a specialization in event care can also work at events, festivals or sports competitions with a medium to high risk profile. These risk profiles are described in the LHGAP, the National Guide to Medical Advice for Public Events of the GHOR. At events, festivals or sports competitions with a higher risk, the basic and event first aiders support the higher care functions

EEHV

Event assistance is the usually mandatory assistance provided by first aid providers (EHVs) at an event site. Within the requirements for obtaining a permit for an event, the GHOR will often provide advice regarding medical safety to the organizer. A (large) gathering of people leads to a greater risk of health problems. However, different events have different risk factors. That is why the Guidelines for Safety for Public Events from the Netherlands Institute for Physical Safety (NIFV) and the Medical Advice for Public Events (GAP) guide from the GHOR are used.

Nursing basics

The (BIG-registered) basic care nurse supplements the first aiders at an event, festival or during a sports competition and supports the specialist nurses and doctors on the festival site. This role on the event site is also often performed by: BMH staff, doctor's assistants, IG nurses and ambulance drivers. They have knowledge of measuring and protocol-based interpretation of respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, heart rate, blood pressure, blood glucose and body temperature and also perform these measurements. They also assist in carrying out reserved actions or carry them out themselves (depending on the level of competence and the possession of a declaration of competence). A complete overview of all competencies that a nurse (basic care) must have during an event, festival or sports competition can be read in VeldnormEvenementenzorg_Versie1.pdf

Bike team

The first aid mountain bikes have special bicycle bags, equipped with complete first aid equipment and an automatic external defibrillator (AED). This equipment provides a life-saving basis in first aid. In addition to the first aid bags on the luggage carrier, the first aid mountain bikes also have a bag with water and other small supplies that may be important when providing first aid. Due to the structure of our mountain bikes, our first aid mountain bikes can also be used temporarily as a barrier in the event of an incident. every biker has at least the EEHV certificate

EHBAD

First responders are increasingly confronted with excessive use of alcohol and drugs. Not only during assistance at many events, but also increasingly when going out and in his immediate environment. Alcohol and drug use can become problematic and lead to serious disturbances in the health of the victim. The news increasingly focuses on alcohol use at a younger age and new habits such as 'binge drinking' or 'coma drinking' and the use of 'laughing gas'. Particularly at a young age, the consequences of alcohol and drug use for the development of young adults can be serious. That is why all our first aiders are trained to recognize the signs of alcohol and drugs and to provide first aid.
